Welcome to my Portfolio! My name is Alex Thomason, and I am an Engineer from Houston, Texas. Recently, I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with dual B.S. degrees in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, I enthusiastically transitioned to Duke University to pursue my Masters of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Medical Device Design. To supplement my graduate education, I am also working as a fellow for the Duke Design Health Program to identify and solve pressing needs in healthcare alongside a team of clinicians and engineers. My goal is to build a career in industry to design medical devices and find innovative solutions to improve healthcare. During my undergraduate career, I was a gymnast for the D1 Men's Gymnastics Team. The challenges that being a student-athlete provided motivated me to become a time-oriented, organized student and encouraged me to express my leadership skills. My athletic career and injuries also influenced my career interests. Outside of the classroom and workplace, I enjoy fitness, exploring the outdoors, cooking, and coding.
